£7760 Culture for All award!
£7760 Culture for All award!
Edenderry Community Development Association are delighted to have been awarded a £7760 Culture for All grant from the Big Lottery Fund and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in partnership with Culture Company 2013 Ltd.
The grant will be used to promote cultural traditions through a range of social and educational activities in the Edenderry. These will include adult Irish dancing classes, traditional percussion playing with a trip to see how traditional drums are made, a folk art banner venture to promote painting on silk and a folk music event to present a traditional to contemporary music evening. The project will culminate in a showcase event in December providing the opportunity to demonstrate newly acquired skills. The project has been named ‘Londonderry to Edenderry - Celebrating Culture, Customs & Communities’ and aims to help local people connect with the UK’s first City of Culture. A time-table of events will be published at the end of July on our Facebook page, the Edenderry News newssheet and in the Portadown Times.
